Return to DEMO GROUP 6: STREAMING DATA AND SPATIAL AND MULTIMEDIA DATABASES In the demonstration, we will present our continuous query engine named CAPE which is designed to function effectively in highly dynamic stream environments. The core foundation of CAPE is an optimization framework with heterogeneous-grained adaptivity. In particular, the following aspects of the CAPE system will be shown: (1) highly reactive and communicative query operators, (2) adaptive operator scheduling, (3) runtime plan reoptimization and migration even between sub-plans containing stateful operators, and (4) adaptive query plan distribution across multiple machines. In summary, CAPE is shown to be truly reactive and adaptive in a rich diversity of stream environments. ![]() ©2005 Association for Computing Machinery |
