Consistent Reads in Oracle

• Ensure that all data seen in a statement is consistent with respect to a single snapshot

• Snapshot determined by transaction_isolation

  • Read committed isolation: Read from the latest committed snapshot at beginning of the statement
  • Serializable isolation: all statements read from the latest committed snapshot at the beginning of transaction
